Biography
Andrew has been playing to Manchester crowds for many years (where he is lovingly known as Big Danny); his name has become household to many Manchester clubbers, and has seen him play his well-developed house sound at the best clubs at home and abroad. Andrew’s passion for house music stems from his love of Rare Groove, Salsoul, Electro Funk & Disco, and his feel good music seems to captivate audiences wherever he plays.
In 1989 Andrew and his friends organised the first of the Bowlers raves in Manchester, on the strength of the events success he was offered a residency at the Canal Café Bar, which was situated four doors away from the Hacienda. The Canal Bar soon became the main feeder bar for clubbers going to the Hacienda and Manchester Boardwalk during the early 90’s, and Andy could be seen there every Saturday for almost five years spinning his tunes.
In 1993 Andrew became resident dj at a little known Manchester club night called 2Kinky, thirteen years and five clubs on, 2Kinky has settled at the View nightclub in Cheshire, and is one of the most popular club nights in the north of England.
Andrew’s residency at 2Kinky spanned over a decade and during that time he was fortunate enough to play alongside just about every big dj you can think of.
1995 brought Andrew another residency at Angels nightclub in Burnley, where he played alongside many dj legends, Andrew was beginning to get noticed on the Manchester club circuit and was regularly invited by Hacienda legend Dave Haslam to guest at his Freedom club night, one of the longest running house events in Manchester and held every Saturday at Manchester Boardwalk.
2006 sees Andrew in the studio with Lee Royle & Cormac Fulton of Serial Diva the team have remixed for Inner City, Sarah Washington, Up Yer Ronson, Gina West, and One Hit Wonder, as well as their own productions, and have three brand new tracks to be released over the coming months, including a track under the name of Burning Divaz called I’m Attracted To You, a cover of the Cookie Watkins classic which has recently been championed by Pete Tong on radio 1, and reached no 5 in the Buzz Chart.
Currently Andrew can be seen playing regularly at Hed Kandi events worldwide, and guest appearances at club events all over the UK & beyond.
